I made an enquiry in September for a log burner to go into an existing fireplace. I was told by the shop that I would need a survey and was given the number of the firm they use. I paid for and arranged a survey and was told to contact the shop 3 days after it was done. When I called them the following week, they had no information on my survey and I was told that they would contact me by the end of the week. 3 weeks went by and nothing, so I went to their shop and they informed me that they had my survey but had to wait for their expert to come back from holiday (the following week). That was nearly a month ago and still nothing. It's now November and still no quote.
After a site visit, I waited 5 weeks for a quotation (which I had to chase up three times) and then was finally told that they could not do the work. Poor communication and very unhelpful service. I would not recommend Chiltern Fireplaces. Completely disinterested in helping me install an electric wood-burner and hearth.
I just had a log burner installed and can't express how happy I am. The finish was amazing. I honestly didn't think the register plate and finish would be so good! The guys worked so hard, I didn't realise how much work was involved. Would recommend to all.
I had a fire installation including a new gas run from one side of my house to the other. My experience of Chiltern Fireplaces went above and beyond expectations. They managed the whole installation and it was trouble free (for me) from adding a cal to the chimney, lifting, relaying my carpets, completing the gas run including my certificate, the removal of the old fire surround, installing the new and leaving the home immaculate.
