Great canalside pub, good food with big garden. Great if you're looking for a stop whilst walking or cycling by.
This is one of those beautiful Georgian houses that conjure up images of roaring fires, a friendly barman and real ales. Alas, somebody with money but no taste has tried to turn it into a chic gastropub. Without the coziness of the former, or any quirkiness whatsoever, it manages to have no atmosphere at all.I found the place depressing and the owner a bit surly. Apparently it was, under the previous owner, a popular local, which did allow dogs. Let's hope that the current patrons, who do appear to have at least looked after the building during their tenure, will see sense and return it to the hands of a publican, or a good restaurateur.

Lovely pub, good food and facilities. Beautiful location by the cut (with 14 day moorings) bit limited on opening times and beers in winter though.
Nice beer garden. Pity about the fact that lots if people bring their drones here to practice flying- we had two whining overhead whilst trying to have a nice relaxed beer on the garden. Would suggest to the owners to ban drones in case it outs customers off enjoying their facilities! Otherwise nice location next to the canal.
