nice place and lovely coffee

Good place good staff good service

Overpriced breakfast. Took over an hour and a half for our breakfasts to come in our group. Nice staff but totally overwhelmed by having to make more than one breakfast at a time.

Lovely and friendly atmosphere. Can get busy over the weekend but always seen to promptly and with a smile.

Well located in the lovely town of Tring, this pub looks charming from the outside in an olde world way. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of the inside. Not that it was dirty or unpleasant, of course. Wooden floors, solid table and chairs and two posh white pool tables all coexist happily in a well lit environment. The bar was staffed by a friendly chap who was happy to serve me, and even wait for me to pop over the road to get cash when their contactless device gave up the ghost. It's just so devoid of character as many modern pubs are when catering to the younger drinker who perhaps favour the number of brightly coloured bottles (think sourz and other awful Frankenstein creations designed to rob one of their wits) behind the bar over the number of ales on tap or the existence of a fire in the corner. We had a couple of cokes and a pint of standard golden ale (only two to choose from though several 'premium lagars') with two bags of crisps that came to slightly under a tenner so not too bad.If you love your pool, shots (of alcohol) and large rooms then this place is for you.Otherwise, keep walking.
